3 Sketches for Wind Ensemble

$60.00

This piece is a collection of melodies that emit a sense of comfort and homeyness. Each sketch is a short, standalone piece using one of these melodies to describe a certain feeling or emotion. The first sketch, "Dancing Under the Oak Tree," gives off a sense of calm and peacefulness centered around a borrowed minor iv chord. The second sketch, "An Empty Room That Feels Like Home," uses a duo of two melodies that flow seamlessly together to create a sense of tender comfort. The final sketch, "Time Passes Much Too Quickly," uses minimal harmonic motion and limited motivic material to create a singular moment that stands out amongst the whole work (rehearsal marking C). Runtime: 12:16

Purchase Includes: parts and full score (.pdf), MIDI rendered recording (.wav).
