Landscapes
Landscapes is a heavily contrasting and musical piece for a concert band, which takes three contrasting themes from different landscapes around the United States. The first theme is a wonderous section filled with atmospheric woodwinds underlined by melodic brass lines. The second theme takes the band to a dangerous place with a dark and haunting theme in the low brass, which passes around the band leading to an intense climax. Finally, the third theme is a beautiful ballad that utilizes many smaller groups of instruments playing chorale-style passages, then building to a grand midpoint to the piece. The piece is structured in a rough arc form, meaning that theme themes will appear in the order "one two three two one." Runtime: 10:00.
Purchase Includes: parts and full score (.pdf), MIDI rendered recording (.wav).
